The airboat engines have been of 3 general types 700hp 408ci, 800hp 427ci and 1,200hp supercharged 427ci (see playlist below). One of our customers runs barges with four of the 1,200 hp's on each barge. We developed complete wiring harnesses, control systems and instrumentation packages for these airbarges to survive the extremely abusive environment in which they operate. Our sandard Big Block marie is 555 ci using a Dart block and like the LS platform, either naturally aspirated or supercharged. We are also about to introduce an 8.8L Gen 8 marine engine. Diamond R Series Race Piston - Flat Top, 4.030 Bore, 2618 Alloy, Premium 8620. We only use the 8 counterweight Callies crank for our 700 hp +/- LS builds. We do switch between Callies, Manley and Diamond based upon availability and customer preference.

This is an upgraded version of our 700 hp 408ci LS (AFR heads, shaft rockers, LSXHR, FAST coil packs). It also has our "all-of-it" cam rather than our 700+ cam. The 6.0L stock configuration is a 4.000" bore with a 3.625" stroke to yield 364 cubic inches. We bore the cylinders 0.030" over (4.030"). This increases displacement to 370 cubic inches. We just started spec-building one of these. Our plan is to use seasoned GM heads instead of the new RHS heads shown in the video. Both go through the same CNC machining processes at our shop. Intake manifolds we have on hand are the FAST LSXR as in the video, as well as FAST LSXHR and Holley Lo-Ram. Other choices include types of serpentine and engine management if desired. @@boduke2299 this is intended to run premium pump gas but we can detune it as needed for your preferred octane. It can also be made flex-fuel capable.

The 10 speed transmission is far superior to the 8 speed. We have made over 1100 WHEEL hp with a factory 10 speed. Not many other transmissions are doing that. While the 8L90 is a great transmission, it is nowhere near close to the 10L90

Based on our experience alone, the answer is no. In fact, water-meth injection has been in use for decades without this being a reported problem. Water-meth was for example, widely used in WWII fighter planes for "war emergency power". US aircraft had a throttle detente at about 90%. Pushing through that would activate the spray.
